From the 15th - 17th May, I spent a few days down in London taking part in Pulse!
On the 14th May we got up horribly early and drove down to London ready to start setting up for Pulse. We arrived to a blank canvas ready to fill with products, which is quote daunting to start with! Especially since last year my stand was about a 3rd of the size of this years...
It took much longer than we had expected, but thanks to the incredibly supportive and handily tall Tom we got there in the end!
After a long day setting up, we rewarded ourselves by heading to Wagamama's for dinner, which is always a good idea!
The first day of Pulse! This turns out to also be the quietest, I guess it didn't help that it was a Sunday and the weather was awesome! Who wants to be stuck inside what is essentially a massive greenhouse all day when the sun is shining??
It was a great first day anyway, it's really lovely to have retailers and buyers wandering into your stand and appreciating all the hard work you've put in to the designs, products and even the display!
The great thing about the first day of Pulse is the free drinks and nibbles all the exhibitors get at the end! Tom and I sat with a couple of our stand neighbours and had a chat about how the day went. It was great to meet fellow designers and find out a bit about their experiences with trade shows.
After the drinks, we headed to an awesome vegan restaurant for dinner, which turned out to be crazy popular and took absolutely ages for our food to arrive, but it was delicious in the end!
Back for the 2nd day of Pulse. Today was a much busier day, with a large number of buyers from bigger shops and retailers compared to the first day which consisted of more independent shops and galleries.
Tom spent lots of time wandering around the show and heading to lots of the Shop Talks which were held throughout the day. He always took his little notebook and took notes for me about the talks on social media, blogging, crowdfunding and more! He's a pretty handy guy to have around.
The final day and also the shortest, hurrah!!
It was a bit quieter throughout the day and I think everyone was a bit worn out from such long days trying to be smiley, chatty and on your feet for 9 hours a day...! As soon as the announcement saying 'Pulse is now closed' came along at 5pm, everyone started hastily packing up and trying to get out of there as quickly as possible!
